Elvin Uy, Executive Director of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) highlights the challenges faced by non-government and civil society organizations (CSOs) in the Philippines. CSOs ensure that the voices of the marginalized are heard and influence both private and government investments to benefit the most vulnerable.
The Philippine Business for Social Progress has taken a vital role in the Philippines’ INFF process, representing the non-government and civil society sectors. By collaborating with the INFF team, the aim is to channel resources effectively to achieve the 2030 global goals. Mr Uy highlighted the value of the INFF, offering transparency about SDG investments and highlighting existing gaps. The INFF, through partnerships, can provide a robust platform for constant information exchange and collaboration, helping countries like the Philippines meet their SDG commitments.
Uy concludes by encouraging other civil society organizations to engage actively with the INFF in their respective countries. Emphasizing the genuine intentions and expertise of the INFF team, he believes that a collective effort involving governments, the private sector, and civil society can drive meaningful change in communities.
